Today I popped out of the office to pick up a Mobile Phone battery for a user.

Got a call from another user saying they couldn’t log in to our ERP. I was at least half an hour away. That was when I noticed a Free WIFI sign on the McDonald’s restuarant window.

Got laptop from car, booted, connected to the wifi, opened a browser and accepted the terms of use and a few moments later I was VPN’d into work and remotely assisting the user.

So if you are an IT guy and require immediate access to the internet Macca’s (or Mickie D’s if you’re American) is an option.

Oh yes and the Soy Latte and Gluten Free Friand really hit the spot.
