I just had a DSL plan change to a 1500/256 line. So I thought I would try and upgrade my Speedtouch Home.

The firmware is here

For some reason the Speedtouch Home modem that I have had for years won’t accept a firmeware upgrade when using Firefox.

I had to install the upgrade using Internet Explorer.

I suppose there probably is a cli that could have done the same thing without resorting to IE looking at the nmap returns it looks as if the modem has the facility to accept stuff via ftp.

PORT STATE SERVICE
21/tcp open ftp
23/tcp open telnet
80/tcp open http
1723/tcp open pptp

After a fair bit of googling I have given up but here is a great step by step on converting a STH to a PRO => Update: no sooner had I posted the link and it was removed so I googled the cache doc and here it is
