Stopping Notepad++ Re-Opening Files from the Last Session

Written by James McDonald

I found the default Notepad++ behaviour of opening the files that were open last time annoying (if I was programmer the default would be fine).

To turn it off:

  1. Open Notepad++
  2. Click Settings ==> Preferences ==> MISC Tab
  3. Uncheck the “Remember the current session for next launch” checkbox

Notepad++ Preferences Dialog “MISC” Tab

    Thanks, saved me some time trying to hunt down the setting!
