There is supposed to be an ability for the Take Control client to click Restart & Shutdown and then reboot into safe mode with networking and reconnect but I am finding that it sometimes doesn't work.

So to work-a-round:

Open msconfig

Choose boot tab

Safe Boot and check Networking and then restart
