If your:

• RDP session over an Unifi UDM to pfsense IPSec VPN starts with a black screen and then drops out
• Terminal sessions hang when you try to load a file in VIM

Then go into System => Advanced => Firewall & NAT and under VPN Packet Processing reduce the MSS. I used 1392 and it immediately fixed my issues
