But the path to conf.avail is /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail

[root@mypc conf.avail]# ln -sf  /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/10-autohint.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/
[root@mypc conf.avail]# ln -sf /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/10-sub-pixel-rgb.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/

Haven’t rebooted yet but hopefully I’ll have bewdiful fonts when I do.

Update: To be honest I haven’t noticed a big improvement from adding the autohint and sub-pixel-rgb configs in. But installing the bunch of nice fonts as listed in the fedorasolved article makes it worth while.
