Check this out…

Watching a video that was hosted on zshare.net… Tried to watch the next one in the series.

Firefox kept saying that I had a problem loading the page.

A little investigation and I discovered that DNS was replying with the address for localhost 127.0.0.1.

I tried this at the local level (my gateway’s DNS proxy), my ISP’s DNS servers returned 127.0.0.1.

Being suspicious I thought perhaps the DNS replies were being edited by my ISP… so I sshed to my American Webhost and did a dig from there and still it returned 127.0.0.1

Finally I did a DNS lookup off the DNS servers listed as the SOA for zshare.net and as you can see it’s been totally DNS blackholed.

I can only guess at the cause. Perhaps a bad DNS edit or some copyright enforcement has been done at the domain level… anyone out there know?
