Day 2
After our 1st day in Paris my legs were very sore from walking just about everywhere. Day 2 was an excercise in endurance, despite severe muscular pain in my legs I still managed to walk all over the country side.

We went into the Catacombs under Paris a place as amazing as it is Macarbe. It seems at some point Paris ran out of burial space and so they decided to move the skeletal remains into a series of tunnels cut underneath Paris. I'm not sure of the number of human remains that are located under ground but the they are stacked in formation and there seems to be kilometers of tunnels lined with skulls and bones.

After the Catacombs we were to meet up with my brother but got confused as to which direction we should head once we got out of the Metro. So that was fun... Eventually I found him and we had a nice lunch and then a walk to a park which gave my nieces an opportunity to have a play.

When you walk all around Paris there is no problem getting to sleep. Though we still find we wake up at 2-3AM everymorning.

Day 3
Day 3 was taken up by a day trip to Giverny to see Monet's Garden.

Well worth going and the people from Fat Tire Bike Tours were great.

It was really amazing to see the pond that inspired Monet's famous paintings.

After we got back to our accomodation we went to a local laundrymat and discovered the lady there didn't speak any English (nor should she, this is France after all). So we had an enjoyable time figuring out what she meant and how to operate the equipment whose instructions are all in French.

More to come when I'm not falling asleep. It's been a big day...

Ciao.
